foster& crisis closet
OUR MISSION
We strive to encourage and support children in crisis and foster families. Our foster closet is equipped with items to improve lives, rebuild dignity, and enrich families for healing and hope for the future.
Together, we are facing a truly unprecedented situation. The global coronavirus pandemic is affecting all of our families, our businesses, our communities, and our way of life. During this time, I wanted to reach out and update you on how we’re approaching the situation at Equipping The Called Foster Closet.
First and foremost, our hearts go out to anyone who's been impacted by the virus, either directly or indirectly. Our thoughts are especially with those who are sick, to whom we extend our heartfelt wishes for a full recovery. And we're truly inspired by the selfless healthcare workers around the world who are on the front lines working tirelessly to care for people in need.
Second, as Equipping The Called is your resource for needed items, we’re focused on the health and safety of our volunteers, families and communities.
We have temporarily suspended acceptance of all used clothing/items donations during this time of uncertainty. As fostering never takes a day off, and we could potentially see an increase of children being placed into care, we encourage you to donate either through our online donation portal or through our Target and Amazon gift registries.
We have suspended all in person appointments but volunteers can deliver emergency items as needed, please email or leave us a voice mail message.
In his letter to the church then and now, Paul reminds us all: “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1Thessalonians 5:16-18). Even during this coronavirus pandemic, especially during this anxious time, let us hold onto our faith and give thanks that God promises to be with us always. And let us pray...and pray without ceasing. Pray for people to be treated, the virus to be contained and controlled, and for us to resume our normal routines soon and very soon.
These are uncertain times but I know we as a community will get through this and we appreciate the continued support of our generous donors.
In Christ,
Julie
